    April 2017

    AMTIS President/CEO had the privilege of meeting and talking with Linda McMahon, the 25th Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Ms. McMahon was visiting the Orlando National Entrepreneur Center and meeting with many organizations and small business owners. As a member of President Trump’s cabinet, she advocates on behalf of the almost 29 million small businesses in America, which employ nearly half of all American workers and account for 56.8 million jobs.

    Barbara Stankowski and Vanessa Mazurek had the privilege of spending time with and learning from Ken Blanchard. Barbara and Vanessa represented AMTIS at the Ken Blanchard Companies Channel Partner Conference held in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The AMTIS goal was to learn how to better market the Ken Blanchard Companies products to small and medium sized businesses in the Orlando area.

    Six businesswomen were recognized at the Women's Inspired Leadership Awards Luncheon on March 1, 2017 at the Country Club of Orlando, presented by Rollins Crummer Graduate School of Business. Our AMTIS CEO/President, Barbara Stankowski was one of the women honored during the luncheon. Barbara was recognized with the Spirit Of Entrepreneurship Award. The award was presented to Barbara by Diana Bolivar. The AMTIS team congratulates all of the amazing women recognized during the luncheon. Event honorees included:

    AMTIS once again sponsored the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Blue Angels chapters Cyberthon 2017. Cyberthon 2017 was held at the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, FL January 20-22, 2017. Thanks to the support of sponsors like AMTIS, Cyberthon has grown to become the Florida’s largest Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Cybersecurity event of the year. The weekend event encourages and promotes a community culture of cyber awareness and collaboration between Government, industry and academia. This year, Cyberthon became a themed, competitive event. Teams of high school and college students earn points finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities and hardening the IT infrastructure of an online banking environment. Navy Federal Credit Union sponsored the Cyberthon 2017 Financial Model.

    As AMTIS continues to thrive, 2016 has been a record year for recognition. On September 16, AMTIS became part of the Golden 100 list. This recognition from the Orlando Business Journal goes to the top 100 privately-held companies in Central Florida. Additionally, AMTIS’ growth was acknowledged again as a part of the Fast 100 companies in the entire state of Florida for a second year in a row. Rounding out the accolades, AMTIS also reached top levels in three additional categories as a Veteran-owned, woman-owned, and minority-owned business.

    In addition to the multiple recognitions by the Orlando Business Journal, AMTIS has once again placed in the Inc. 5000 list. For a fourth consecutive year, this positions AMTIS among the top 5,000 fastest-growing, privately-held businesses in America.

    Inc. 5000 released the 2016 annual ranking of the fast-growing private companies in America. AMTIS, Inc. was recognized for the fourth year in a row by Inc. 5000 and was ranked number 1331 for achieving a 290% growth over the past 3-years. AMTIS was also identified as one of the Top Orlando Florida companies ranking #17. AMTIS President/CEO Barbara Stankowski commented "Our Inc. 5000 listing is the result of the dedicated, passionate and quality work provided by our talented and passionate team. The team’s success has led to our growth, diversification of services and expansion of the government agencies we so proudly serve.”

    AMTIS today announced that it has been appraised at level 2 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®. The appraisal was performed by the Northern Utah Process Improvement Technologies Inc. (NUPIT). CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.

    An appraisal at maturity level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.

    AMTIS awarded a multi-year contract to provide support services to EPA Atlanta

    AMTIS awarded a 5-year contract to provide workshops to the Defense Acquisition University.

    On March 14th, Theresa Farmer, our Vice President for Business Development and Operations lost her battle with cancer. She has been a key member of our Executive Leadership Team for the last 5 years and a significant contributor to our growth and success. We all extend our prayers and sympathy to her family and will build on the foundation she helped to create for us. We will greatly miss her smile, vision, and continuous contribution to AMTIS. Above all she was a loyal friend who always had our back.

    AMTIS President/CEO Barbara Stankowski and CFO Linda Albright attended and participated in the I4GOVCON in Tampa, FL on March 24th. The conference, a leadership event for small business focused on the Trends, Tactics and Transition for the success of Small Businesses coupled with great networking opportunities. Barbara participated on the panel titled Entrepreneurial Success in the Federal Market: Three Different Approaches along with Ed Dottery with Alakai Defense and Chuck Jenkins with CWU. Carol Ann Dykes with UCF Business Incubator Program was the moderator for the panel.

    AMTIS has joined with GBSI and many others to sponsors AFCEA Pensacola CYBERTHON 2016. CyberThon 2016 is a weekend event set for January 22-24 that encourages and promotes a community culture of cyber awareness and collaboration between Government, industry and academia and is sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). AFCEA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an ethical forum for increasing knowledge and exchanging information relevant to its members in the areas of information technology, communications and cyber security. The second annual CyberThon will be held at the National Flight Academy.

    We are proud to announce AMTIS, Inc.'s recent certification for ISO 9001:2008 by Platinum Registration, Inc. AMTIS received the Certificate (Certificate # 13132773) on November 30, 2015 which will be valid until November 30, 2018. ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization which is the internationally recognized series of quality management system standards issued to date in 180 countries. An ISO 9001:2008 Certificate shows an adherence to a Quality Management System. In becoming certified, our company has been certified to satisfy requirements of ISO 9001:2008 with respect to the Quality Management System governing the delivery of the products and services we provide to our customers. This certification further strengthens our commitment to our customers where we will adhere to our Company Quality Policy to “continuously improving our products and services that will meet or exceed our customers’ satisfaction”. This commitment starts with our senior leadership team and is fully embraced by all AMTIS team members.

    AMTIS President/CEO Barbara Stankowski participated in a WOSB Panel: Working as a Federal Contractor as part of the ChallengeHer Conference held on December 10, 2015 at the Orlando National Entrepreneur Center. The conference was sponsored by the SBA, SBDC, WIPP and American Express.

    The panel was moderated by Patricia Simpson (PTAC) and other panel members included Mary Trier of Capital Communications and Consulting and Jennifer Dickerson of EnRep, Inc.

    The conference was well attended and focused on opportunities for women in Federal Contracting.

    AMTIS CEO, Barbara Stankowski was the featured Speaker at the Sixth Entrepreneur’s Experience sponsored by the Ohio Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Kent State Stark held on October 6, 2015. The Entrepreneur Experience series presented by the SBDC at Kent State Stark, is designed to encourage the professional practices of entrepreneurs at all levels. The proceeds from these events benefit the SBDC Scholarship Fund. Barbara donated her speaker’s honorarium to the SBDC Scholarship Fund.

    AMTIS, Inc. is a Sponsor of the 13th Annual Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Pensacola Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament to be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at A.C. Read Golf Course. The tournament produces over $3,000 each year for engineering and technology scholarships and grants for eligible students and teachers in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.     AMTIS awarded a one year contract to provide Legal and Admin Support Services for the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern Florida District.

    AMTIS awarded a multi-year contract to provide Instructor Services to the Navy Center for Information Dominance.

    The Orlando Business Journal published their latest list of the top 25 Women Owned Businesses in Central Florida. AMTIS, Inc. was identified as number 6 on the list for this year. AMTIS, headquartered in Orlando has a local staff of over 28 people consisting of corporate staff and VBA Training Performance Support, with other Florida based contracts supporting U.S. Attorneys in the Miami area and Navy at Center for Information Dominance in Pensacola Florida, and curriculum development support in Jacksonville Fl. We also have an additional 150 employees in 14 different locations across the country supporting other Government agencies including Center for Disease Control, Navy, Army, FDA, DHHS, DOL, Dept. of State, and the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

    AMTIS awarded a multi-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the Denver Acquisition Office for SBA to support The Office of Entrepreneurship Education (OEE) in developing educational resources that aide aspiring entrepreneurs and current small business owners.

    AMTIS awarded a multi-year contract to provide Executive Coaching Services to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)

    AMTIS awarded a multi-year contract by the Department of Health and Human Services to provide support to the Office of Minority Health for activities under the Secretary’s Minority Aids Initiative Fund (SMAIF)

    The Orlando Business Journal published their Florida Fast 100 List on Sep 18, 2015. To qualify for the list, companies had to be at least 51 percent privately held, headquartered within the Sunshine State, and maintained steady growth from 2012 through 2014. AMTIS was ranked number 33 with over 186% change in growth for that time period. President and CEO, Ms. Barbara Stankowski accepted the award at the OBJ ceremony on Sep 21, 2015 at the Citrus Club.
